Hot Lips Littleleaf Sage (Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips') is a long-blooming Sage that blooms all summer with eye-catching red and white bicolor flowers. The nectar-rich flowers attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. Hot Lips Littleleaf Sage (Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips') has distinctive, brilliantly colored flowers that make 'Hot Lips' Salvia a special selection. Blooming from spring until hard frost in fall, the flower color will vary seasonally. In the cooler times of spring and fall, the flowers are strongly bi-colored red and white. When it's hot, the flowers go solid red. Regardless of the time of the growing season, this ever-blooming selection is a beauty. The plant makes a small shrub with age and thrives in poor soils with plenty of heat and sun. Plant with Lavender (Lavandula) and white Appleblossom Grass (Gaura). Javelina resistant

Crape Myrtle

The new leaves of this species are 2" long, bright green, and tinged with bronze. Some cultivars have spectacular fall color. When it has a bare outline, its rounded seed capsules add interest. Its delicate flowers bloom in 6"-12" long clusters. The flower colors could be shades of red, rose, pink, purple, and white, blooming in summer. It thrives on heat, and new cultivars have been created that resist mildew. This tree prefers full sun and has low watering needs once it's established.

Royal Burgundy Barberry

Botanical name:Berberis thunbergii 'Royal Burgundy'

A deciduous deep burgundy leaved shrub with upright/mounding branches which reaches 2 ft high and 2-3 ft wide. The foliage becomes reddish burgundy in summer and fall. Similar to 'Crimson Pygmy' but a deeper, richer color.

Botanical name:Penstemon hybrids

This perennial plant will reach 3' high and has medium-sized, glossy dark green leaves with violet, or red or pink flowers that bloom in summer and fall. It needs a bit extra water in the summer and no water in the winter. Flowers are attractive to hummingbirds.

Boule Rosemary

Botanical name:Rosmarinus officinalis 'Boule'

'Boule' is a reliable perennial that grows 2' tall and wide. It has a mounding habit with outer arching branches, thus making it ideal for spilling over walls and planters. Leaves are small, narrow, aromatic, and green. Clusters of blue flowers appear in spring, attracting bees. Plant in full sun. Does well in coastal areas. It is drought tolerant once it's established.
