Grevillea 'Canberra Gem'
Grevillea Canberra Gem
Description
Deep green, needle-like foliage characterize this evergreen shrub. It reaches 6'-8' tall and wide, forming a dense shrub with arching branches. Its reddish pink flowers bloom on the branches in winter and spring. This woody plant does best in full sun with well draining, dry soil. It does not tolerate phosphorus fertilizer well so it's best to not fertilize. Prune after flowering period to reshape or tidy plant. Established plants are drought tolerant but this plant will also tolerate irrigation for nearby plants. Birds love 'Canberra Gem'. It is a good barrier plant.

Replace turf with groundcovers, trees, and shrubs. If you have areas where no one uses the grass, patches that do not grow well, or a turf area too small to water without runoff, consider replacing the turf with water-efficient landscaping.
