Escallonia 'Newport Dwarf'
Dwarf Escallonia
Description
Escallonia 'Newport Dwarf' is an evergreen shrub with glossy leaves. It grows up slowly to 2.5' tall and 4' wide, forming a neat dense mound. Deep pink to red flowers bloom in spring and fall. This shrub tolerates coastal climates and coastal winds but cannot stand highly alkaline soil. It needs watering at least once a week but more during hot summer months. Pinch tips to keep the shrub compact. It attracts birds and butterflies.
