Euonymus fortunei
Wintercreeper
Description
Euonymus fortunei is an evergreen vine or shrub. If this plant is used as a shrub, it reaches 1'-3' tall with branches trailing and sometimes rooting, thus considered invasive in many areas. If allowed to climb, it will form a spreading mass to 20' or more. Rich, deep green leaves are 1"-2.5" long, with scalloped-toothed edges. Foliage changes color in fall, depending on cultivar. The flowers are inconspicuous. It does well in full to part sun. It tolerates poor soil, heat, drought, urban pollution. It is prone to scale.

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.
